Dear all,

Following the launch of the Lower Thorpe viaduct’s steel frame earlier this summer, we are now preparing to start concreting the deck, which attached to this frame.

When this work is taking place over the Banbury Lane, a short duration road closure will be required to keep everyone safe.

The first part of this will be on 17 & 18 September to erect scaffolding for access. The following week, we will pour the concrete on the lower section of the deck requiring a few days of closure, exact dates are depending on the daily progress, and will take place during the week of 22-26 September. The closure will be removed when we are not working above the road. Please keep an eye on the road closure signs to confirm the closure days during this week. The road closure notice is attached and online. Notice-of-road-closure-Banbury-Lane-Thorpe-Mandeville-September-2025.pdf

Details of a further, similar closure later in the autumn for pouring the upper section of the deck, will be share nearer the time.

Kind regards,

Haidee
