Culworth Snappers
History
Culworth Snappers was started nearly 7 years ago by a group of like-minded amateur photographers in the village. A few people soon joined from other local villages too. We started by meeting once a month in members' homes but as the membership grew we moved into Culworth Village Hall. During the pandemic we have continued our club nights via Zoom.
Activity
We have a topic each month which is selected by the members. The images are loaded on to Dropbox and are reviewed at our monthly club night. When our meetings are held in the Village Hall we also include regular technical sessions where members share knowledge and experience on a wide range of topics such as image composition, know your camera and astrophotography.
As the lockdown eases we hope to get back to our occasional outdoor photoshoots which are popular with the members. Previous shoots have been at Chesterton Mill, Stowe, and the canal at Cropredy.
We have a few guest speakers throughout the year, generally professional photographers passing on their field of expertise.
The club has a facebook page "Culworth Snappers" where you can find images taken by members.
Topics for the rest of this year include:
Lockdown; Kitchen Utensils; Gates; Woodland; Life's back to normal; Wheels; Minimalism; Windows.
Future Club Nights this year (Thursdays):
22nd April; 20th May; 24th June; 22nd July; 26th August; 23rd September; 21st October; 25th November;
The membership consists of people with varying levels of expertise and equipment.
The cost of membership is £20.00 per annum which covers hiring of the hall, guest speakers etc.
Everyone is welcome, so come and join this very friendly local club.
